Ever get that terrible feeling…

when all of a sudden you realize how old you are? Like, I’m not even “old” by most definitions of the term…but I just feel suddenly reminded of my own mortality. This won’t last forever. People are disappearing around me. And there is this certain sense of foreboding that many things are ending much faster than I can possibly comprehend. I can’t believe how fast a year can pass. I can’t believe that this was an entire year, when my mind seems to have stayed in the same place on the same subject constantly for the entire duration of it. I feel as though everything has changed, but inside I haven’t moved on with the world…or maybe I have, just not in the direction I wanted or imagined…
